TVO To Broadcast "The Choir"
London Symphony Orchestra choirmaster Gareth Malone leads a battle of music over macho in this inspiring four-part follow-up to the BAFTA award-winning The Choir. In The Choir: Boys Don’t Sing, Gareth tries to forge a 100-strong boys choir from the boisterous, sport-loving, rapping teenagers of Leicester’s all-boy Lancaster School.
Before the choir crusader can begin to conquer the boys’ attitude that singing just isn’t cool, Gareth must first win over his teacher colleagues (who seem to have little interest in the musical arts) and revive the school’s past singing traditions, all the while coping with the bureaucracy and politics of being a staff member. Will Gareth achieve his dream of bringing his choir to London’s Royal Albert Hall and transform the school in the process?
The series will run Tuesdays at 7:00pm on TVO from April 6 to April 27th.
