The recipient of the 2006 President's Leadership Award is St Catherine's resident Robert Henderson. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Henderson was honoured in recognition of his timeless work for Chorus Niagara, as chorister, Board Member, President and most recently as volunteer General Manager. Formerly a school music teacher and later a professor at Brock University, Mr. Henderson has also served on the Board of Choir Ontario, then known as the Ontario Choral Federation.
In supporting his nomination, Walter Pitman praised Mr, Henderson for "his commitment, skill and genius" and Chorus Niagara Artistic Director Robert Cooper lauded "his unceasing energy, sincere dedication, thorough organizational skills, creative imagination and strong leadership...enhanced by his great good humour, which engages loyalty from singers and volunteers, opens many supportive doors and makes every encounter a positive and joyous choral experience."
